Beer on the Boards 2

The following information comes in from Chris, the guy behind this fantastic event.

In March 2012, the inaugural Beers on the Boards Craft Beer Festival was held at Martells on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk. With over 30 breweries pouring samples of their finest ale and lager, and a beer-inspired buffet included in the ticket price, the event was a great success and most of the guests were asking about a return engagement.

Beers on the Boards 2, however, was scheduled for November 3rd and, as we all know, Sandy had other plans for the boardwalk a few days earlier. But the people of Point Pleasant Beach, like those along the rest of the Jersey Shore, are resilient. And so, after much rebuilding, Martells is ready to host the second annual Beers on the Boards, which will be held Saturday March 23rd inside and outside on their newly renovated pier, set to open in early March.

The event, which is produced by the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce along with TotalBruMarketing/Beerheads.com, will again showcase over 60 different beers along with some great food and beer pairings and an all-you-can-eat buffet. There will be two sessions, afternoon and evening, and the price for advance purchase remains $50 per person with all of the beer and food included. There will be several NJ breweries in attendance, such as Carton, East Coast, Flying Fish and New Jersey Beer Co., as well as a dedicated IPA Bar for those who prefer hops to malt.

Carol Vaccaro, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, thinks this festival will be a great way for people to return to the boardwalk.

“We are so happy that Martells will have their pier open for this event and are grateful to have so many great breweries returning to help us welcome everyone back to the boardwalk.”

Event producer Chris DePeppe of beerheads.com also sees this as a well-timed Spring kickoff event for the Shore.

“This is one of my favorite events of the year,” he said, “and this year, with all that has happened since October, I am especially excited about seeing some old friends, forgetting our troubles for a day, and celebrating the rebound of one of Jersey’s coolest beach communities.”

A limited number of tickets will be sold for each session and once they sell out no tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are $50 and include a tasting glass, 2 ounce pours from all breweries, free buffet all day, and additional entertainment to be announced. No one under 21 will be admitted, and photo ID is required for entry. For more information go to www.beersontheboards.com.

  1. can i ask with 2 session if the brewery runs out of a select beer in the 1st session

then in the 2nd session you can only drink what is left not taken by the 1st session

am i correct to assume that

so it might seem to get the 1st session so you have a chance to try everything
