Beer Drinkers,

B. United Importers have created a barrel aging program called the Zymatore Project where they age beer they import from several different breweries in different barrels at their headquarters in Connecticut. Barrels being used come from all over the world and included are whiskey, gin, rum, and wine etc. Most of these beers are draft only but the first three bottles have just hit our store. The first is a sour ale from Alvinne, which we got a shippment of a couple weeks ago that sold out instantly, so if you missed out last time do not hesitate, it will be gone just as fast this time around. The other two are wine barrel aged meads and are very limited as well.

 

Also in this week is a new edition to Southern Tier’s Black Water Series, a new 750mL from Magic Hat, Sixpoint’s summer seasonal, and an eisbock from Schneider Aventinus.

 

Please remember to stop in tomorrow for a ‘Meet the Brewer’ night with Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. We will have free samples from 5-7pm of their County Line IPA, Tribute Triple, and Leon Russian Imperial S’mores Stout. See you then.

 

 

Zymatore Alvinne Cuvee Freddy (Whiskey aged): Ratings n/a: $19.99/750mL

The Cuvee Freddy is a blend of a Wild Undressed (sour ale), the Alvino (sour ale on red grapes), and the Mano Negra (Belgian stout). They were blended together and matured in for 12 months in 4 different whiskey barrels from Ransom Spirits, Belgian Owl Distillery, and Bella Vineyards.

 

Zymatore Iqhilika Chili Msobomvu: Ratings n/a: $25.99/750mL

 

South African chili mead aged in Merlot wine barrels from the Thelema Mountain Vineyards of Stellenbosch.

A lightly hazy deep rose color. Notes of citrus fruits and fresh red grapes. The sweetness from the honey is a balanced lifelines on the tounge from the acidity and long delicate finish. Aged in barrels from the Thelema Mountain Vineyards in Stellenbosch, South Africa, previously used for maturing their Shiraz and red wine blends.

 

Southern Tier Plum Noir: BA 87: $8.99/22oz

 

Plums are a diverse group of species, with somewhere between 19 & 40 varieties depending upon whom you ask. We’re using what we consider to be the best to brew with. the Italian plum has beautiful dark skin & the flesh is perfect for fermentation. Plum Noir’s mild sweetness is derived no necessarily from the many malts we use. A bit of plum flavor is present as well as earthy, toasted grains, & hints of caramel with mild

 

coffee overtones.

 

Magic Hat Humdinger Series Over the Pils: BA 82: $8.99/750mL

 

Over the Pils features a smooth malt body that is paired with fruit and floral notes from generous additions of Brewer’s Gold and Crystal hops. Beneath the bold hop aroma hides a subtle warmth sure to take your taste buds Over the Pils and far away.

 

Port Brewing Shark Attack: BA 87 RB 98: $6.99/22oz

 

This is a classic West Coast-style imperial red ale brewed with medium crystal malts, centennial and cascade hops. The color is a burnt amber with red highlights and the aroma has a spicy hop presence with moderate caramel malt accents. The taste is a smooth, malty one with a balanced hoppy finish that includes hints of sweet caramel.

 

Schneider Aventinus Eisbock: BA Bros 99 RB 99: $4.99/12oz

 

Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore… Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created. Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery decided to recreate this classic “mistake” in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later … Prost!

 

Sixpoint Apollo: BA Bros 95 RB 84: $8.99/4pk

 

The unmistakable flavor of a Bavarian Wheat, but with a clear golden brilliance and a Sixpoint twist. An entirely unique canned offering for the sun-worshipping ale lovers.
