Here’s the official press release

Hunterdon Distributors is honored to be the exclusive wholesaler featured in a weekend-long tap takeover event at Mohawk House in Sparta, New Jersey.  From June 7-10, 2012, all fifty draft lines at this top-notch Sussex county restaurant will rotate through an assortment of rare brews from Hunterdon’s extensive portfolio of craft beer.  This will be the first event of its kind for Hunterdon which has been distributing in New Jersey for the past sixteen years.

The event kicks-off Thursday, June 7th at 6pm and will include live music by The Nerds, one of the area’s most legendary bands, as well as complimentary cigars rolled on-site by Tony Santana (featured recently on Real Housewives of New Jersey) and a tribute to local farmers with “Farm Green Dollar” gift-certificates given out as prizes for customers to redeem at local farmers’ markets.  Additional musical performances are expected throughout the weekend as well, including Sick Star Nation on Friday night and Moons of Pluto on Saturday night.  The drafts will be rotating daily, so enthusiasts can expect to find new brands and styles on tap every day throughout the weekend.  The event will conclude on Sunday with half-price growler fills all day long.

Mohawk House owner Steve Scro decided to host this exclusive event with Hunterdon because of his level of respect for the company and the strong partnership the two have had over the past few years. “I have a true love for what Hunterdon is all about. They’ve worked hard to become the company they are today and they stand for the same beliefs that I do. Their craft beer portfolio marries well with our locally-inspired cuisine and their incredible variety of brews allows me to change things up and keep people interested in what’s coming up next on tap.”

States Hunterdon’s company President Michael Short, “It is an honor for Hunterdon to take part in this event.  The Mohawk House has set the bar very high and is now one of the premier restaurant / beer destinations in New Jersey.  Steve and Rachael have done an incredible job and we look forward to celebrating their accomplishments with them.”

Steve and Rachael Scro opened Mohawk House in 2005 and take great pride in providing outstanding customer service and hospitality, a lively, yet elegant atmosphere and an impeccable menu using local ingredients whenever possible.  All dishes are produced 100% from scratch.  You’ll never see large restaurant-grade food trucks making deliveries at Mohawk; the husband and wife team find local purveyors for everything from produce to chicken and beef.  In their spare time, Steve and Rachael tend to their own 1790’s working farm in Sparta and are very active members of the community.  They feel very strongly about giving back and are consistently making charitable donations to fellow local farmers as well as organizations benefiting the livelihood of animals; two causes close to their heart.

Other events on the horizon for Mohawk House include a Stone/Dogfish Head/Victory evening that will feature the collaborative brew Saison Du Buff and over forty other styles from these three powerhouse breweries.
