Nip-n-Tuck Bar & Grill

nip-n-tuck bar and grill long branch

You don’t expect this little gem to have a great selection of beers but THEY do and great grilled cheese too.  I stopped in to Nip-N-Tuck in Long Branch this past Sunday.  It was a miserable rainy day and I had to stay away from my house for a few hours so the wife could hang with her girlfriends.  It was perfect.  The selection of taps including some leftovers from the previous Troeg’s promo night.  First, I ponied up to the bar and was greeted with a big hello and saw a dark black can tap handle.  I couldn’t resist the Ten Fidy.  After throwing the rich imperial stout down… well after about an hour, it’s 10.5% ABV, ya know, I sipped a half pint of Mad Elf.  Nip-n-Tuck’s menu is simple and comforting.  I had the grilled cheese of the week which happens to be monterey jack, pepper jack, bacon, tomato and jalapeno ranch dressing on rye.  It was so bleeping good and perfect on a rainy day.  I chatted with some of the local patrons and really felt like a regular in the two hours I was there.  I’m pretty excited to go back to Long Branch and hang out and eat some wings.  I’m going to keep posting more Nip-n-Tuck menu changes, so stay tuned.

Have you ever been here?  What do you think?  Oh yeah – there are like 20 TVs and an awesome pool table too.  Oh, no website, but there is a Facebook page.

  1. Formerly a Long Branch resident myself, The Nip-n-Tuck was my old stomping ground. Owners, Bob & Jamie, and all of the staff, are the absolute best! I'm currently living in Orange County,NY and occasionally have to work in Monmouth County for days or weeks at a time. When I'm there, the Nip-n-Tuck is the ONLY place I go to eat and/or unwind after work. If you were impressed with the pepper jack grilled cheese, try the one with the horseradish cheddar…to die for! I've had quite a few of their grilled cheese creations and they're all good! The other unknown specialty at the Nip-n-Tuck is the NY Strip steak! I've worked in steak houses and fine dining establishments for many years and never had a NY Strip as good as the "Nip's". Add the montreal seasoning and holy cow is that good!

They also have awesome bands there each week, a monthly schedule is always posted on the wall. There's no particular "type" of people that frequent the Nip, it's a diverse crowd and as you've experienced, a friendly group of people. Truly a cool place!
