NJ Brewery Guild update

This was sent over late last week.

Guild Legislation on Governor’s Desk

After a 64-13 win in the Assembly and a 39-0 vote in the Senate, the Garden State Craft Brewers bill is now on the desk of Governor Chris Christie. He has some time before he needs to sign the bill, but we will be asking for your help one more time to reach out to him on this opportunity to expand craft brewing, jobs and tourism in the state.

We’ll be putting out more information on how you can help in the next few weeks. Here’s just one of many positive stories about the changes for NJ that our bill will create.

16th Annual Beer Fest A Record Success

A record-high 19 New Jersey breweries poured beers at the recent Beer on the Battleship festival attended by more than 600 people. First-time breweries included Carton, Cape May, Kane, Tuckahoe and Turtle Stone. This year featured a sold out VIP session giving attendees first crack at some rare beers and opportunity to speak with the brewers before the festival got into full swing.

Thanks to all the staff at the Battleship NJ, the great Cabin Dogs band and all our volunteers for making this one of the best fests around.

July is shaping up to be an exciting month for new beers at the Harvest Moon Brewery & Cafe. The beginning of July will see the newest of their rotating double IPA’s, Cluster Funk Double IPA, dry-hopped with a blend of Cluster, Columbus and Centennial hops, as well as the first of several Saisons. The second week of July should see the release of Afternoon Delight, a session ale aggressively hopped with the Zythos blend. And towards the end of July, their first-ever Berliner-Weisse!

JJ Bitting Takes the Cake!

JJ Bitting Brewing Company has the Bierstrasse Hefeweizen on for July along with Woodbridge Lite, Bittings Best Bitter and OnyXXX Stout.

Many folks may have seen the recent episode of the show Cake Boss on TLC, featuring JJ Bitting on their 15th anniversary. It included three cakes made to look like their brewing tanks and one of them had a functioning tap installed. It was quite a show and may still be seen as reruns have been airing.
