Victory Beer Dinner recap

Beer dinners are popping up more and more these days in New Jersey and it’s great to see the Fox and Hound Edison start adding them to their events. On August 27th, they hosted a five-course Victory Beer Dinner. General Manager Michael Scofield prepared the menu himself, “Pub Scout” Kurt Epps was the MC, and Victory’s NJ Rep Steve Gates provided the info on the brewery and brews being served. The first course, Chicken and Andouille Sausage Strudel, made with a tasty BBQ sauce, was paired nicely with the crisp Prima Pils. The second course was the Strawberry Summer Salad paired with the lightly sweet Whirlwind Wit. The third course, Cajun Pasta Fresco was simple and fresh, but the slight spiciness went nicely with the flavor-packed Hop Wallop. The fourth course, Sauteed Chicken in a Shaved Portabella Creme Sauce, was complimented by the crisp and hoppy Summer Love Ale. The final course was the dessert and this is when Mike showed off his kitchen skills with a Bananas Foster over Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. This rich and tasty dessert was paired well with the Golden Monkey, a Belgian-style tripel with heavy notes of banana.

Overall, the crew ran a nice dinner with great beer, food, service and even a bit o’ entertainment by the Pub Scout. This dinner was the third one they’ve hosted, the first one had about 22 seats and this one was over 80! It seems they will have more coming up, so keep a look out and go check it out!

Nice piece, Heather. Mike did a great job on the food, the waitstaff was smooth and efficient, and the guests all had a great time.
