Join us for Blue and Brew notes Galore!
You may call it “jazz”, but Green Meets Blue will be stretching musical boundaries way past “your Grandpa’s jazz”.
Green Meets Blue is a trio of musicians that have a jazz foundation, but grew up listening to a wide variety of musical influences, and will bring it all out right before your eyes.
You’ll hear some familiar tunes, and you’ll hear absolutely new music that is being created on the spot.– Kevin Brown (Bass) has played in Broadway Pit Orchestras, Symphony Orchestras and a wide range of Jazz & Rock groups. He is also currently a music professor at Montclair State University.
– Teddy Kumpel (Guitar & Loops) is a fixture in the NYC music scene, playing on TV & Movie Soundtracks, and appearing live everywhere from clubs to major concert venues with his own “Loopestra” and many others. He is currently the guitarist in Joe Jackson’s band, and Joe recently said about Teddy, that he was “the guitarist I always wanted to work with but could never find”.
– Steve Peckman (Saxes & Stuff) is a decades-long resident of Monmouth County, a founding member of the original jazz group, Monkeyworks (along with Kevin Brown) and has been a featured soloist on a range of recordings emanating from the Asbury Park original music scene.
You won’t want to miss this evening of fresh music, fresh beer. Our brewer will be releasing a taproom-only beer this night for this special night!
