We fell for this nearby event, hoping to see a nice game at an attractive venue. The ballpark is new, and has a beautiful view of the Ben Franklin bridge and the Philly skyline. The event was in their club with a nice view of the game. Unfortunately, the value was marginal. They offered only 5 taps, one from each brewery mentioned, hot dogs were cold in the middle, lukewarm meatballs, a kind of chili, and pretzels. the Yards rep was there handing out trinkets and t shirts.
The game was the slowest we ever experienced. After 2 hours, they were starting the 3rd inning. Fireworks at the end of the game might have been held at dawn. We left, the bartender announced last call at 8 pm, but we objected, and the bar manager said it would be open to the 8:30pm time. sitting inside you could hardly hear the occasional announcer, outside was hot and humid. The club and the concession were not well run and we won’t be back.
