I’ve been wanting to go to Langosta Lounge, the surf themed restaurant for a few months now and I finally visited with some friends. I tried to reach out a few times on Facebook and Twitter before heading out to see what their beer deal was but unfortunately received no reply. I assumed a place with such a unique menu and located on Ocean Avenue on the beach in AP would have a decent beer menu. I was wrong. Pretty standard macros on tap plus Long Trail IPA and Americas Oldest Brewery’s flagship Lager. The food was really good. I had a burger with chipotle mayo, grilled pineapple, jalapenos and onions. The spice balanced out well with the sweet and the IPA kept my palette happy. It’s called the Pops Burger. The tuna wrap my wife had was great and my friends dishes were also as lovely. The butternut squash soup of the day was also really good but was luke warm.
If you are looking for a good meal with a minimal craft beer selection and you find yourself in Asbury Park, check it out. The food’s really good.
They had Six Point Porter early last summer ago and I loved it, but since then they haven't had good beers, blegh. For better brew options in AP go to Bond Street or Brickwall, also don't forget Jack's in Long Branch (when last there they had Mad Elf, River Horse Belgian, and many other killers).
I did read about a Sixpoint event over the summer but didn't make it to it. I've been meaning to get to Brickwall. I posted something about them last week. Will check the other places out soon. Nip-n-Tuck bar is a cool spot in Long Branch too.
i look forward to trying this place – in a few weeks i will be in the area for lunch
Awesome, Kevin. Let us know what you think.
