The Jetty Rock Foundation & Spice It Up are thrilled to officially announce the arrival of the Hop Sauce Festival.
The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, May 31, at the Taylor Avenue Ball field, and will surely provide the foundation for a new Long Beach Island tradition.
As a gathering of craft beer and gourmet hot sauce enthusiasts, the Hop Sauce Festival will feature regional hot sauces paired with local fare and twenty varieties of microbrews. This community-oriented event invites beer aficionados and foodies to enjoy a high-energy festival with live music that celebrates the beginning of another beautiful summer on Long Beach Island.
The quotes above come from the organizers of Hop Sauce. This graphic below pretty much sums up the event but there’s plenty more info below here from the organizers including a discount code.

The Hop Sauce Festival is aimed at creating a new event on LBI, a celebration for the traditional LBI visitor, but also to draw a new, younger demographic with an interest in culture. It provides an invaluable opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves before the influx of seasonal visitors. The hand-selected sponsors have proven to be active community members, and we are honored collaborate with them to make Hop Sauce a success in it’s first year.
“Sometime in June of 2013, Ed Bucholtz from Born To Hula Hot Sauce dropped off product to the store. We were looking out to the field and bay and he suggested it would be a great place to have a hot sauce festival. This is the same field where Chowderfest is held, so we knew it was possible. From there, the idea blossomed into hot sauce with food and craft beer and I realized planning a festival was much larger than planning a party. One morning Jeremy from The Jetty Rock Foundation texted me and said, ‘Let’s do this festival.’ and so the journey began to take shape,” says Event Director Regina Lotito, owner of Spice It Up Gourmet Hot Sauce in Beach Haven.
“My real goal with the festival was to bring new people to our island and to show what a great place it is to visit and a celebration for the locals.”
Local eateries like the Black Whale Bar & Fish House, Country Kettle, Buckalew’s, the Dutchman’s Brauhaus, El Swell, the Chicken or the Egg will be serving food to pair with gourmet hot sauces from Born to Hula, Red Hawk Premium Peppers, Jak Jeckel Pepper Sauce, Love of JoJo and Deception Salsa as well as 20 craft beers.
The line up of original musical acts includes For the Foxes, the Lawsuits, Starlight Girls, Jared Hard (of the Scandals) and the Brigantines.
A portion of the proceeds from Hop Sauce will benefit the Jetty Rock Foundation, the non-profit division of the lifestyle apparel brand, which is dedicated to beautifying the Long Beach Island and Mainland communities and directing aid to locals in need.
We’re saving the bottom of this article for the beers that are currently being sampled and organized by Jetty and Shore Point. Once they are available, we’ll update it!
Hi Mike,
I was just going to purchase 2 tickets to the Hop Sauce Event that looked very cool and is not too far from my vacation house. However I did not purchase them just yet as I went through the payment process and did not see anywhere where I could put in the code for a $5 reduction in price. Is there something I am missing?
I’d suggest contacting the organizers, I’m not sure where it should be entered.
You enter it at the very end, I just ordered my tickets & used the code. FYI, even though you are buying 2 tickets, they only give you $5 off the order, not per ticket.
Thanks Deborah,
I will give it another shot right now.
Hi Everyone! We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion but the way the website was set up, you will have to order each ticket individually to get the discount off each ticket. If you buy more than 1, you will only get $5 off the total order.
We are VERY excited about the festival and please check out our website for an updated list of raft beers, bands, hot sauce, food, and other vendors. http://www.hopsaucefest.com

Great news! We found a solution. When you check out you will receive 15% off purchase, so regardless of number of tickets you will receive a discount on all of them. Thanks for your patience and we look forward to seeing you on May 31st!
Regina,
I bought my 2 tickets before you replied with the solutions and only received $5 off the purchase.. No worries though, the craft beer card has paid for itself 10 times over for me already. It’s a great concept that I am glad to be a member of and will continue to be. We are looking forward to the first event! Thanks for setting this up for us!
Best,
Robert
