Our friends Beerheads are at it again and that’s good news! Here’s what Chris from Beerheads said about his Beer On The Boards event and NJCB Members, there’s a LIMITED DISCOUNT CODE! Scroll down and come hang out.
The 4th Annual Beers on the Boards returns to the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk on Saturday, March 28th with doors opening at Martell’s Tiki Bar at noon for the first session.
Over 40 breweries will be represented and among them will be ten or more of New Jersey’s own beer makers, including newcomers to the event such as Flounder Brewing, Cape May and Forgotten Boardwalk as well as longtime participants like Beach Haus, Carton, Flying Fish, Cricket Hill and Tuckahoe. Bolero Snort and River Horse round out the Garden State’s starting lineup.
The New Jersey craft beer scene is growing faster than a hop vine after the rain, and these new breweries are adding to a vibrant beer culture that is starting to reach into every corner of the state. That culture is also being furthered by some entrepreneurial beer advocates who are helping to educate new consumers about the many flavors that exist beyond light lager.
One such advocate is Mike Kivowitz, owner of New Jersey Craft Beer and a supporter of the Beers on the Boards event. He is working with the event producer, TotalBRU Marketing, to create a short “Beer Flavors 101” class that will be held once during each of the two sessions of the festival.
“Exploring beer is fun and there are so many ways to enhance your craft beer and food experience”, Kivowitz said.
The class will guide guests on a simple beer and food pairing and discuss the ways that certain beer flavors enhance or balance a variety of foods. And since this is a beer and food event with an all-you-can-eat buffet included in the ticket, guests are able to experiment and find their own favorite pairings.
This popular fundraiser for the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce has grown into a celebrated local event that brings a happy crowd to Martell’s Tiki Bar on the boardwalk. The first session is 12:30-4:00PM and the second session is 6:00-9:30PM. All guests will receive a 5 ounce commemorative tasting glass with a 2 ounce pour line. Advance tickets online are priced at $55 per person (with a $25 ticket available to designated drivers) and that price includes beer and food.
Tickets and information are available at www.beersontheboards.com.
The PPB Chamber of Commerce holds several annual fundraisers and more information is available at www.ppbchamberofcommerce.org

Also, good news, I’ll be presenting a exciting seminar on Beer 101 and food pairings during both sessions. Stay tuned and come by our table where there will be NJCB Memberships and other goodies for sale and giveaways too.
Are children permitted and if so what are their ticket price???
Anthony, it’s 21+ only, sorry. Last year, I met my kids on the boardwalk while I hung out inside the event for a while. The aquarium maybe open too. I’d contact Martell’s and Jenks to see what’s open for kids.
