FBB Spice of Life charity event

Cherry Hill: This in from our friends at Forgotten Boardwalk.

On January 31, 2016, Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing will be holding their annual charity event to raise awareness for the benefits of organ donation. The Spice of Life was created last year to commemorate the anniversary of Forgotten Boardwalk’s own Seth Dolled’s living kidney donation to his mother Sharon. This year marks their 10th anniversary of the successful donation. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Living Kidney Donors Network & The Gift of Life Donor House. Both are not-for-profit organizations whose primary mission is to educate and prepare those in need of a transplant about the donation process and to effectively communicate their need to family members and friends.

Forgotten Boardwalk is no stranger to charity events, having held multiple food drives as well as donating a portion of the proceeds from the two Skeeball machines in the brewery tasting room to different charities each month. This event will be no different and will feature two specially made beers for the event, made with locally grown & dried hot peppers. One is Lady #8 (a variant of What the Butler Saw, a Belgian-Style Witbier, with additions of watermelon and the hot peppers) as well as a spicy version of our Imperial IPA, Pocket Trick called Hot Trick for the occasion. There will also be a special firkin tapping of Hot Cake (our Funnel Cake ale conditioned with locally sourced habanero honey from Spring Valley Honey Farms.)
