Unibroue and Iron Hill, ohh what a fun night!

This past Monday night I headed down to Iron Hill to meet my buddy Bernard from Unibroue and Stephen, a all around good beer guy/photographer and chat beer with some awesome people like the Barley Legal Homebrew Club, Gary Rosen, Tara Nurin, and Jay Rose!  I had no idea they were all going to be at Iron Hill so it was an even better night.  Bernard made a connection that partnered Unibroue’s Brewmaster, Jerry with

The Ship Inn

The Ship Inn was New Jersey’s first brewpub established after prohibition ended. For starters, shame on me for taking this long to go out there. This place has history so many of our members and readers are probably already familiar with The Ship Inn, at least with the name. As a matter of fact, one our very active members that is in constant contact with us was the one who got us the contact information.

Jerry (Unibroue brewer) & Chris (Iron Hill Maple Shade) brewers working on something special TODAY!

This is breaking news from my good friend Bernard, the local rep from Unibroue.  Bernard called me to tell me that the Unibroue brewmaster, Jerry Vietz is going to collaborate and brew a special one off beer with Chris LaPierre, the brewmaster at Iron Hill Maple Shade.  Their brew-session style is yet to be determined.  The group will be hanging out after the brewday ends! I’ll be there around 6PM.  See you then! Now get excited and

Turtle Stone Brewery

Turtle Stone Brewing

Turtle Stone Brewing is the creation of Ben Battiata and Becky Pederson from Vineland.  During a recent conversation with Ben, I had the opportunity to learn about Turtle Stone, its origins and future. Originally conceived five years ago, the idea of opening his own brewery is something that Ben has approached with a strong passion. The seeds of most breweries, especially those in NJ, all come from the same origin – too many macros around.

Uno Metuchen’s new Brewmaster, Chris Percello and an update!

Matt and I recently stopped at Uno’s Brewpub to chat with our friend Chris, the new Brewmaster at the restaurant.  Chris is hard at work formulating his new Oktoberfest recipe which you can see Matt sipping from the fermenter in some of the pictures below.  You’ll be happy to know that Chris is working on a few new recipes as well as keeping some of the older recipes, but maybe tweaking them a bit.
