Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing Co located in Cherry Hill, NJ and The Alementary Brewing Co located in Hackensack, NJ announce a collaboration with a purpose, for a purpose, by celebrating diversity with fruit additions inspired by the colors of the rainbow.
The two breweries collaborated on a single recipe concept that was brewed at both facilities and will be released only in their own tap rooms. The beer is a “Fruitage Ale” brewed with Barbe Rouge hops for its delicate berry notes with the additions of raspberry, blood orange, Meyer lemon, key lime, blueberry & Damson plum. The beers will have a slightly sweet and slightly tart taste with a bright carbonation with a 5.5% ABV (Alcohol by Volume).
The collaboration was conceptualized by the team while visiting the Craft Brewers Conference in Nashville Tennessee. Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing owner, Jamie Queli reflects, “There were five of us having dinner, Blake Crawford & Michael Roosevelt from The Alementary as well as Seth Dolled, Evan Wasylyk, and myself. We all had a big brewing crush on this new hop, Barbe Rouge, we discovered while attending the conference. The open dialogue just flowed and we knew we wanted to join forces and make something special with this rare hop from France.”
The collaboration did not end there. The group wanted to showcase pride, diversity, advocacy and support of the LGBT community throughout the state of New Jersey. Queli states, “Pride month was fast approaching and we wanted to brew beers that encompassed that celebration.” The group decided to add delicate fruit additions into their beers that are inspired by the colors of the rainbow.
