Highlands: 19th Annual Oktoberfest is happening at Highlands Business Partnership

The feel-good spirit of Highlands 19th ANNUAL Oktoberfest is modeled after the traditional Munich, Germany Oktoberfest with an emphasis on eating; drinking and being merry while providing something for everyone. Authentic German food, live music, dancing and other great entertainment will be part of the Annual Oktoberfest celebration taking place in Veterans Park on Bay & Shrewsbury Avenues on Saturday, October 5th from 2:00 – 9:00 PM. Rain Date – Sunday, October, 6th 12-7PM, Admission and Parking is free.
The park is festive with fall decorations, the food is great and the varieties of German beers are even better. Authentic German food is a highlight of this famous festival. Executive Chef Butch Greenwaldt is preparing the menu with plenty of traditional German favorites hot off the grill such as bratwurst, knockwurst, kraut, potato pancakes, goulash, sauerbraten and Bavarian noodles along with other tasty fare those less adventurous.
Quench your thirst with a large variety of Oktoberfest Beers, both light and dark. The beer garden will also serve Riesling wine and Sangria. Join the thousands of visitors who annually attend to enjoy the live Oompah and polka music. The Bayern Verien German Dancers will surely get the crowd moving. Festivities will include a “Best-Dressed” Contest, and a “Beer Stein Holding” Contest with special prizes. The festival is family friendly and there will be children’s activities, along with a wide variety of retail, specialty and craft vendors.
