Job Description
Ross Brewing is looking to add up to two additional brewers to start at our new waterfront facility in Port Monmouth, NJ!
After gypsy brewing since 2019, our delicious beers and ciders are already sold at over 300 locations in NJ, NY, and PA–and now we’ll be brewing them for the first time ourselves on our brand new state-of-the-art brewing equipment. And we’re going to need even more help to do that–a brewer who loves to brew, is excited about our incredible, unique space, and as passionate as we are about great beer and the future of Ross Brewing!
The brewer would be an integral part of our team, be able to oversee all aspects of day-to-day brewing operations, and must be able to work with a team and collaborate well with others. The candidate must be creative, innovative, have the ability to problem-solve and improvise, have an exceptional work ethic, be a self-starter, and above all else, love to make great beer.
Responsibilities will include:
• Brewhouse operation and maintenance
• Raw materials management
• Recipe development (as directed; shared responsibility)
• Cellaring management
• Packaging
• Laboratory operations
• Coordination with internal team members and external relationships
• Participate and represent Ross Brewing at beerfests, beer dinners, on-premise and off-premise events (as directed; shared responsibility)
• Managing QAQC standards and overall quality of beer.
• Understand safety protocols in accordance with OSHA requirements
• Other duties as directed by management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years of commercial brewing experience
-or- 2 years of commercial brewing experience and a completed accredited brewing program (ie UC Davis, Siebel Institute, CWU, etc.)
REQUIRED SKILLS
People person, creative, leader, forklift/pallet jack operations, proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs, familiarity with brewhouse software, excellent planner and organizer, have own transportation, appreciate and maintain cleanliness and and works well in and with a team.

This is an important role within the company, and for the motivated and high-performing individual, it is a role that has the opportunity to lead to multiple promotions with increasing responsibility in a potentially short amount of time, roles which would include managing other brewers and cellar team, making purchasing decisions, and meeting with customers and other businesses.

Ross Brewing is a craft brewery in Monmouth County New Jersey, who has produced over 40 beers in the last three years via contract brewing, sold at over 300 locations in NJ, NY, and now PA. We are about to open our very own facility and are the only waterfront brewery in the tri-state area, inclusive of having our own dock and skyline view of New York City across the bay. We’re also a boatload of fun to work with and hang out with, facts are facts.
