Pitman: Adam, a long time NJCB Member is helping his town, Pitman, put on a local focused beer event this summer on August 18, 2018. Here’s what we know including how to get your NJCB Member discounted tickets!

The Greater Pitman Chamber of Commerce will host brewers from New Jersey, Philadelphia, and even Virginia on August 18, 2018, as they share their beer with festival-goers. The event will be held at 400 N. Woodbury Rd, Pitman, and all proceeds from the festival will be reinvested in the Pitman business community. Patrons will have the opportunity to sample beer from each brewery, with a limited number of VIP tickets available for early access to additional small-batch brews. Tickets can be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce at www.UptownPitman.com and range from $40 – $50. A designated driver ticket is available for $5; the holder will gain access to the festival to enjoy food trucks, vendors, and live music.

The Summer Swelter Craft Beer Festival is a celebration of the local brewer. Over 45 local breweries will be in attendance, each pouring two types of beer. John Couchoud from the podcast ‘South Jersey Beer Scene’ raves, “These are breweries you don’t normally see together in one spot.” Each brewery will pour a 2 oz taste of each variety, giving patrons a chance to sample many beers during the 1pm – 5pm festival.

VIP tickets are available for an additional $10, and allow VIP ticket-holders to enter the festival at 12pm, an hour before the gates open for general admission. In addition to smaller crowd size, VIPs will have exclusive access to small-batch, one-off beers from over 30 attending breweries. Along with the VIP ticket, a designated driver ticket is also available for $5 to encourage responsible transportation after the festival.

While beer is the focus of the day, Summer Swelter will also host food trucks that will serve lunch and sweet treats throughout the day. www.UptownPitman.com has a comprehensive list of attending food trucks, as well as a list of local vendors who will be on hand selling some very unique items. Live entertainment during the event will be provided by three bands: The Funk Perpetrators, Love Alive, and The Ben Arnold Band.
