Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival

Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation Summer Series of Festivals continues.

The Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation’s (JSJBF) Summer Series of Festivals, voted “Favorite Music Festival” this year in the JerseyArts.com People’s Choice Awards, rocks on at the Asbury Park Blues & Brews Festival on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 12 -8 p.m. at Bradley Park, located across from the Convention Hall and Boardwalk at 5th and Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park, N.J. Thousands are anticipated to turn out for a day of live performances by talented blues musicians, food and beverage, crafters and sponsor exhibits, a Lagunitas Craft Beer and Wine Garden, and a kids activities area. The festival is rain or shine, free to the public, dog friendly and all ages are welcome to attend.

The last festival in the series will be held in Long Branch on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 12 – 10 p.m. followed by fireworks at The Great Lawn on the Boardwalk, located on Cooper Ave. Each year, sponsor donations from the Summer Series of Festivals raise essential funds for the nonprofit Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation’s operational expenses.  Sponsors include Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, Comcast, Lagunitas Brewing Company and Hunterdon Distributors.

“Our award-winning summer festival has been entertaining jazz and blues fans on the Jersey Shore for more than 25 years,” said Festival organizer Dennis Eschbach. “We attract thousands of visitors of all ages. Thanks to the support of our musicians, volunteers, sponsors and host towns, we’re able to keep jazz and blues music alive and rolling in the region.”

Asbury Park Blues & Brews Festival headliner is Joe Louis Walker. Award-winning blues master, Blues Hall Of Fame member and Alligator recording artist Joe Louis Walker is among the greatest bluesmen of his generation. He is known worldwide as one of the genre’s top musical trailblazers — a mesmerizing guitarist and soul-testifying vocalist. Walker blends boundless energy and his myriad influences into a contemporary blues tour-de-force. His always-inventive guitar playing is matched note-for-note by his fervent vocals. From menacing, hard rocking electric blues to cool Memphis funk to R&B rave-ups to Sunday morning gospel, Walker’s blues — fierce and untamed, adventurous and fun — continue to define the genre. Citrusinensis: *NEW THIS YEAR!* A wheatier version of the New Dogtown Pale Ale brewed with natural blood orange flavors. A refreshingly hopped pale-ish ale with a huge citrus burst!

Pils: A Czech style pilsner. A lager brewed with imported hops that leave it light, crisp and easy to drink. Moderate hops flavor with low bitterness make it clean and refreshing.

IPA: Malt and hops work together to balance out on your taste buds. Big on aroma with a hoppy-sweet finish. Moderately bitter and moderately hoppy, but very well balanced. The Number One IPA in California.

Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’: Way smooth and silky with a nice wheatly-esque-ishness. A truly unique style featuring a strong hop finish on a silky body. A hoppy pale wheat ale that is great for IPA fans but so smooth that the hefeweizen fans dig it too.

Also, please let your members know that they will receive a free branded cup at the Beer & Wine Garden. They can tell them they are New Jersey Craft Beer Members when they visit.
