It’s Superbowl weekend, let’s hope for a good game. If not, There’s plenty of good beer to be had. Here’s what we have on tap at the moment:

The on deck list for the weekend is deep, we anticipate filling a ton of growlers. Here’s the weekend list in no particular order: Bear Republic Heritage Scotch Ale, Great Divide Hades Belgian Golden Ale, Sierra Nevada Celebration, Harpoon Winter, Einbecker Winter Bock, Boulder Mojo IPA, Sierra Nevada Glissade, DFH Raison, Harpoon Celtic Ale, Unibroue Maudite.
As fun as all that is, we have a couple not so fun things to talk about this week. First, we were informed yesterday that Erie Brewing is pulling out of NJ indefinitely. They were shipping their beer to the distributor via FedEx. As you can imagine, the cost was out of control, forcing them to pull out of NJ until they can figure out a more cost effective way to get us their Railbender. When we found out this was happening, we called the distributor and cleaned them out of any Erie kegs they had. Look for the last of the Railbender on tap soon at the growler station.
Next is the REAL bad news is about Nugget Nectar. Many of you have been asking for weeks about the arrival of Nugget Nectar. We finally got an answer to that question 3 weeks ago when we were told Feb 7, which we all found odd considering Philly has had it since early January. We were informed yesterday that the Nugget Nectar release in NJ has been pushed back ANOTHER WEEK to Feb 14!! It’s even more frustrating because we also found out NY, DE, PA, MD ALL have it flowing freely at this point. When asked what the issue is, the distributor replied, “Just hang in there another week.” So here we are in NJ, hanging in there, again. In my best Rodney Dangerfield impression, “I tell ya, NJ gets no respect, NO respect!”
On to better news. For the upcoming Valentines weekend, we thought it would be fun to tap a bunch of the Chocolate Stout beers we’ve been sitting on for a while. We will Have Southern Tier Choklat, Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence, Ommegang 3 Philosophers, Brooklyn Chocolate Stout, maybe some Yard’s Love Stout and of course Flying Fish Exit 13 Chocolate Stout all on tap at the growler station. We’ll also have a couple cherry beers on tap as well to mix with the Chocolate beers. A hint for the ladies, usually Valentines Day is all about you, but if you wanna show some love to your favorite beer geek, nothing says Valentines Day like a growler full of chocolate cherry beer. Just sayin’.
