What better place to learn the art of home brewing and connect to Newark’s beer-making history than the “house that beer built”? The Ballantine House, a wing of the Newark Museum, was built in 1885 for Jeanette and John Holme Ballantine of the celebrated Newark beer-brewing family.

Thomas Jambor, founder of Morris Area Society of Homebrewers and Official Tasting Judge, leads participants through a hands-on brewing process of creating the mash for fermentation and racking the beer into bottles. This workshop also includes a gallery tour to inspire your own D.I.Y. bottle labels and a tour through the historic Ballantine Mansion. Each participant takes home two six-packs of your creation.

No experience necessary. Please note, must be age 21 and over.
