Point Pleasant: Nick sent us over the announcement about the Last Wave and Bouncing Souls collab recently brewed at Last Wave.
Here at Last Wave, we’re all about our local community. This summer has been a trying time at the shore for many businesses and non-profits who do a lot of great work in our area. When the opportunity came to do a beer with the Bouncing Souls, we found there was a shared passion for music, surfing, and social justice—hence the name How I Spent My Summer Vacation. That’s why we decided to donate a portion of the proceeds of this beer to the Asbury Park Music Foundation, Best Day Foundation, and our local Black Lives Matter chapter. These 3 non-profits are near and dear to us and the band.
For the brew, we crafted a deliciously juicy NEIPA that features Citra, Medusa, and Cashmere hops for a beer with tropical overtones and an undercurrent of lime running through the finish. Bryan Kienlen, the bass player, did the can artwork and it was a blast getting to meet a few musical heroes of ours and talk beer and life with them. How I Spent My Summer Vacation NEIPA will be canned on August 26th, and hitting our liquor store accounts that week. We’ll have a bunch for sale to-go and on tap in our beer garden. $2 of every 4-pack and $1 of every pint sold will go to those charities. We’re also working on getting a few sixtels to select bars along the shore. We may also have one more surprise in store with this release you’ll have to stay tuned for…
