Brew-Wing

Tapastre somerville

This is happening in case you were not aware! Mark, Mike and Augie and I talked about it during The NJCB Show Episode 2 and it’s really happening this Sunday.

I swear, at first I just thought it was idle chatter. But I sure am glad I was wrong.

A few months back, just before hosting Room With A Brew, our monthly live Web chat on craft beer in New Jersey, Carton Brewing Company’s Augie Carton and I swung by Tapastre in Somerville for a bite to eat and a pre-chat pint. We got to talking with bar owner Mike Proske about some of those dishes that just tend to go best with a good beer, settling on chicken wings as one of our mutual favorites.

Wouldn’t it be cool, we thought, if we could put together some big event showcasing both? The topic came up again when, serendipitously, the three of us appeared as guests on a New Jersey Craft Beer video spot a short while later.

At some point, who knows when, I guess we jointly decided to go from mere talk to action. The result: 2 p.m. this Sunday at Tapastre, 1 West High St. in Somerville, is the Carton Brew-Wing Fest, where some top-shelf wings will be paired with half a dozen Carton beers.

And Carton wings, for that matter — Augie will be joining new Tapastre chef Carlton Greenawalt in the kitchen as each whips up some of their signature stuff.

Read more at Mark’s column on MyCentralJersey.com or watch the video for more info and we’ll see you on Sunday!

Tapastre is located at One West High Street, Somerville and online and of course on Facebook too.  NJCB Members, get your savings on. 10% off the entire bill with your Membership Club Card!
