In what’s become a holiday tradition, Icarus Brewing and Last Wave Brewing Co., two Ocean County breweries got together (virtually) to collaborate on a new beer called Brewer’s Ball. To be more specific—two separate beers that can be enjoyed on their own, but are designed to be blended together. Just like in the wine world, the blending of two beers is known as a cuvée, but these guys are referring to this socially distanced collaboration as a “Cuvid.” They’ll be getting together for an Instagram Live on Wednesday, December 16th at 7pm to provide some tasting notes, show how the beers can be blended, and answer a few questions from fans.
The Beers:
– Icarus has crafted a rich and decadent Dessert-style milk stout brewed with specialty malts and cacao nibs– Last Wave cooked up a Brut IPA with tangerine, Hallertau Blanc and Mandarina Bavaria hops to deliver a crisp, refreshingly citrusy IPA
When blended in the right amounts, the cuvée will be reminiscent of a chocolate covered orange.
These beers will be distributed to retail accounts across central and northern New Jersey starting on December 16th.
