Lakewood: My famous soup recipe is back in fall rotation at Icarus Brewing. Jason (owner/brewer) and I brewed Build Me Up Butternut recently for release on Friday, October 12 at the brewery and the following day at Central Jersey Beer Festival at Mercer County Park. The year’s batch focuses more on spicy, smoked peppers, slightly creamier using a simple hop profile, lactose, milder dark malts and less starch. The beer is looking like it will hit just under 7% ABV but the costume party release will be 100% awesomesauce errr soup! Wear you favorite costume, bring some halloween vinyl to dance to, listen to Wynward and Funeral Students playing music after 7PM and let’s celebrate all things butternut! The beer is draft only but (confirmed) rumor is there will be a bottle release around 5P1M on October 12 also of a Kalashnikov variant.
