NJ Senate Committee Approves Small Brewer Bill 5-0 After a lot of give and take between the Guild and representatives of the beer wholesalers, liquor stores, restaurant association and liquor distributors, an amended version of our legislation cleared the committee 5-0. Tun Tavern, Atlantic City’s Brewpub

Atlantic City’s Tun Tavern was established by owner and fomer Marine Montgomery Dahm in 1998 in homage to the original Philadelphia brewhouse founded in 1681. It is attached to the new Atlantic City convention center’s Sheraton, a short walk (five blocks) from the Boardwalk. It is currently the city’s only microbrewery. Flounder Brewing

Flounder Brewing is almost legal

Got an email from Flounder Brewing late last week.  Jeremy, the owner sent over a note stating that We are close to opening, contracting is about done and just waiting on township inspections there which are set to start early March.  OUr final State ABC inspection is set for 3/7, if no problems there we will be licensed after that by the ABC.  So we’re looking to start pilot brewing towards the end of March

Flying Fish Exit 8, coming soon

You have probably have read this already, but Exit 8 is official.  Flying Fish said To celebrate Exit 8, one of our big farming areas, we’ve brewed a beer that uses a lost local ingredient chestnuts–and a popular current one–two varieties of local honey. Just got this sent over from Andrea at Krogh’s.  She says Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub in picturesque Lake Mohawk, Sparta, welcomes winter with a Vanilla Porter on tap 1/11/12. We follow the Vanilla Porter with an Alt Beer and then an E.S.B. In February we will be hosting the winner of the 2011 Best of Show Beer in the New Jersey State Fair homebrewer competition.
