Haskell: Joseph from Kitchen & Beer Bar sent information about Equilibrium & KCBC Grand Reopening Tapping Event scheduled for Wednesday, May 19 from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Joseph says…

Join us for our 100% reopening event.

What a event its going to be!!!!

We will be tapping six beers from Equilibrium Brewery & six beers from KCBC brewery. Most of these beers will only be available here!

Draft list:

1) Equilibrium Brewery Wavelength – IPA 6.5% (untappd 4.11)
A wavelength is the distance between identical points in the adjacent cycles of a waveform signal propagated in space and describes the flow of Photons

We started with oats and white wheat for a base before adding Simcoe and Mosaic to the whirlpool. To get some berry medley notes going we dry hopped with Mosaic and Citra at a 2:1 ratio. Wavelength pours bright yellow with aromas of citrus and stone fruit with crushable flavors of mango and berry with a light refreshing finish.

2) Equilibrium Brewery MC2 – Double IPA 8.2% (untappd 4.27)
MC² is Photon’s big brother. We literally took Photon’s hopping rate and squared it. This DIPA is our tribute to the amazing relationship that energy and mass are balanced, proportional to the speed of a photon squared. It pours a hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and apricot. MC² tastes like succulent mango juice loaded with chewy hop resins. It’s very drinkable for 8.0%; be careful, this one can sneak up on you.

3) Equilibrium Brewery Fluctuation – Double IPA 8.1% (untappd 4.31)
Departures from Equilibrium are known as fluctuations. It pours a very hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and lychee with an undercurrent of sorbet and cream. Fluctuation tastes highly resinous and tropical with an assertive yet soft bitterness. We consider this fluctuation to be perfectly unbalanced.

4) Equilibrium Brewery Photon – Pale Ale 4.8% (untappd 4.03)
Photon is our light and crushable American Pale Ale loaded with pacific northwest hops. It pours a very hazy orange, releasing well-blended notes of apricot, tangerine, peach, mango, and pineapple. It tastes of soft juicy tropical fruits, hop resins, and a hint of biscuit. A smooth rounded bitterness with a touch of dryness ensures you’re ready for the next sip. This drinking experience is further enhanced with a soft and billowy mouth-feel that has made this the go to ale for the Equilibrium crew, especially when a productive day needs to follow a fun night.

5) Equilibrium Brewery / Fidens Collaboration OG’s Axe – Double IPA 8% (untappd 4.38)
Fidens Brewing visited Middletown a few weeks to do a spin off of their beer, Eugene’s Axe. Since OG, our Henry Street head brewer, first met Fidens last year, we all thought it was fitting for OG to hold the Axe this time, as he’s constantly chopping down hop monsters to bring everyone delicious liquid. Be careful with that Axe, OG!

OG’s Axe starts off with an enormous base of oats before adding Citra, Strata, and Galaxy. Pouring hazy yellow with aromatic pops of pineapple, citrus, and crushed berry you’ll notice flavors of papaya, mango, weed and passionfruit exploding into a creamy, dank, and thick popsicle finish lined with #EQjuice. This beer is crushable dank juice, we don’t recommend holding sharp objects after consumption.

6) Equilibrium Brewery / Aslin Collaboration Neo Blast – Double IPA 8.5% (untappd 4.12)
Hopped with Citra, Sabro and Sultana. If we didn’t know any better we’d swear this was pineapple chunks in a can! Delivers huge aromas of ripe pineapple courtesy of the Sultana hops, with rich flavors of creamy tropical fruit, citrus, ripe berries and a delicate touch of pine

7) KCBC Brewery Superhero Sidekicks – IPA 6.9% (untappd 3.95)
Ripe oranges, fresh pineapple and smooth pine. Citra, Mosaic, Idaho 7, Cascade & Centennial hops combine to deliver a powerful lupulin punch. Soft orange haze, with a crisp, moderately-bitter finish for maximum drinkability.

8) KCBC Brewery Marble of Doom IV – Sour /Fruited (untappd 4.04)
Lush reddish-purple haze in the glass and bursting with ripe boysenberries and tangy plums, while exotic black raspberry creates a mouth-coating layer of juicy-jammy-jam in the middle. Full-flavored, tart finish.

9) KCBC Brewery Bats & Scorpions – IPA 7.2% (untappd 3.94)
Back with another joosetastic Battle of the Beasts! Screeching to the max with Citra, Vic Secret and Centenial hops, with a soft backbone of pils malt and loads of oats. Notes of pineapple, passion fruit, peach blossoms, and pine with a clean citrus finish.

10) KCBC Brewery Thunder Cage – DDH IPA 7.2% (untappd 4.09)
Imagine, if you will, an IPA inspired by a futuristic WWE-style cage-death-match between the Norse gods Thor & Loki, with a massive blast of Citra, Amarillo, and Simcoe hops for extra thunder-joose… sounds tasty, right? Originally brewed in the Beforetimes for the anniversary of our good buds at Bar Great Harry, it’s back again–fresher than ever.

11) KCBC Brewery Penguins In Space – Session IPA 4.9% (untappd 3.89)
2-Row & Vienna Malt, Flaked Wheat & Flaked Rye, and Mosaic, Motueka & Centennial Hops
