Jughandle Brewing Jersey Showcase

Fort Lee: Jughandle Brewing Jersey Showcase is happening at The Beer Spot & Grill

Joe from The Beer Spot & Grill said on Thursday, June 28 from 12:00 pm to 02:00 am

Every other Thursday we will be showcasing a brewery from NJ w/ 8-10 beers.

Jughandle Brewing Co.

Jughandle Brewing Co. is owned by three friends – Pete Artherholt and Mike Skudera of Tinton Falls and Chris Hanigan of Red Bank.

Jughandle Brewing Co. started to take form in the fall of 2014. Pete and Chris were independently dreaming of opening a brewery. Both had been home brewing for 15+ years and both were thinking about the next chapter in life. Mike just ended his term as mayor of Tinton Falls and was ready to take on a new venture.

The team spent the fall and winter reading, researching, and writing a business plan. The company was officially formed in April of 2015. We entered into lease negotiations in the summer and applied for a variance to have a manufacturing use in a retail location, which was granted in September 2015. State and federal applications were filed shortly after and the real work began. Nearly everything in the brewery was built in-house. We received our NJ State permit in March of 2016 and Jughandle Brewing opened its doors to the public on June 18, 2016.

Here’s the list of beers

4057 8.2% ABV, 72 IBU
“Forty Fifty Seven” is a powerful double IPA that hits all the senses, from its heavy haze to its balance of tropical yet dank aroma and flavor courtesy of a heaping blend of hops.

Hefeweizen 4.7% ABV, 13 IBU
This German-style brew is made with more than 50% wheat and yeast that imparts a clove flavor. Hazy like a hot August day at the shore, it’s a sessionable beer, perfect for summer.

Firepit Wit 4.7% ABV, 17 IBU
This perfectly spiced witbier, like most Belgian-style beers, has a relatively simple grain bill, allowing the combination of spices and Belgian yeast to shine through.

Cooler at the Shore 6% ABV, 9 IBU
Our Gose has a characteristic cloudy yellow color and provides a refreshing crispness and twang with subtle notes of strawberry and mango, both added to the fermenter. Remember it’s always Cooler at the Shore.

Pacifically Speaking 7.3% ABV, 51 IBU
This west coast IPA has waves of fruit and citrus balanced by subtle floral and pine aromas that deliver a restrained bitterness and a dry refreshing finish.

Hopshorne Galaxy 7.2% ABV, 40 IBU
Hopshorne Galaxy is a variant of Hopshorne our New England IPA thats been
generously dry hopped with Galaxy.

Mosaic Pale Ale 5.2% ABV, 52 IBU
A pale gold brew that’s refreshing and hoppy, yet with sufficient supporting malt. Made with Northern Brewer, Cascade, and Mosaic hops.

The Bee Sting 6.6% ABV, 22 IBU
The “Bee Sting” is a farmhouse style saison with an interesting grain bill that includes quinoa and wheat berries; brewed with local honey, fresh lemons and dry hopped with lavender, all said to calm a bee sting.

4 Way Stop Aged In White Wine Barrels 13% ABV, 33 IBU
Belgian style quad ale is sweet, tannic, oaky, classic distinct Belgian ester and phenol profile including dark fruit flavors and red hue. The white wine barrels accentuate the dark fruit flavors and add a slightly tart aspect.

Stay tuned for updates.
