Metuchen BrewFest

Haileys Harp and Pub Metuchen

Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm at Old Franklin Schoolhouse,  491 Middlesex Ave,  Metuchen, is the first BrewFest sponsored by Hailey’s Harp and Pub.

“Bring your friends.” That’s the tagline for this year’s first-ever BeerFest ’13, a local craft brew festival being held at the Old Franklin Schoolhouse in Metuchen on October 19, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Hosted by the Borough Improvement League (BIL) in partnership with Hailey’s Harp and Pub general manager, Moshe Atzbi, BeerFest ’13 unites seasonal brew flavors and local cuisine with a communitywide party. It will also feature exhibits from local artists, an indoor/outdoor stage for professional music acts, food for sale from Metuchen eateries, and beer from local craft brewers. Event guests will receive an official BeerFest ’13 5-ounce mug to taste unlimited samples of over 20 different beers.

More info can be found at the Metuchen Matters website. I was told about some of the beers to be showcased. From Black River Traders, one of the distributors, John sent over the following.

St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout (an outstanding true to style 5% oatmeal stout from Canada)

Big Muddy Brewing Pumpkin Smasher (6% brew using real pumpkins & pumpkin pie spices w/ hints of cinnamon & nutmeg.

Fort Collins Rocky Mountain IPA (outstanding 6.2% brew) – from Beer Advocate “Any true hophead will be able to take this American IPA on, a sure pick and a great example of what US mountain region breweries do for their IPAs”

A few additional surprises to surface as well!
