NY’s Empire Brewing is in NJ. Here’s what Emily from Empire told us earlier.
Empire Brewing Company was established in 1994 as a micro-brewery and restaurant in downtown Syracuse NY, aspiring to provide customers with the finest all-natural ingredients available by utilizing fresh, locally sourced products whenever possible. Our sustainable efforts have since been honored with the Slo Food’s Snail of Approval Award and the Sustainable Upstate New York Small Business Award. Empire Brewing Co. is a multi-award winning national and international brewer of specialty craft beers, Empire’s handcrafted ales and lagers are distributed throughout New York State. Bottles lineup includes 3 time consecutive GABF® gold medal winner, Skinny Atlas Light, and World Beer Cup® gold medal winner, Black Magic Stout (nitrogenated).
Empire Farmstead Brewery opened its doors in 2016. The 35,000 sq. ft. building sits on 22 acres of virgin farmland. The objective of the Empire Farmstead Brewery is to expand the existing facility and agricultural component of Empire Brewing Co. to a stand-alone manufacturing and agritourism facility in Cazenovia, NY. The 60 barrel brewery will allow Empire to keg, bottle and eventually can their craft beer for regional, national and international distribution. The farm will be cultivated for barley, lavender, vegetables, herbs, fruits and of course hops! Located in the former hop capital of the United States, the development of the second brewery location has helped to revitalize Madison County’s rich hop history. A farmstead apiary, or “e-piary”, will generate Empire’s very own estate honey. These crops will be used in Empire’s award winning ales and lagers, as well as the food preparation at both the Cazenovia and Syracuse locations. In just over 20 years, Empire has matured from a seven barrel brewpub to one of the largest craft breweries in New York State. With plans for international export, Empire Brewing Company is shaping into a global brand.
