NYC – Manhattan Sales Rep

Job Description


Hoboken Brewing Company was officially open for business Sept 1, 2017 and we’ve been growing at a
rapid pace across the state of New Jersey! We self-distribute and have to ability to grow and scale on
demand. The way in which we came to business allows us to be very agile in an ever changing craft beer
environment. To-date, we are in over 200 accounts throughout NJ and growing on a daily basis. This
upcoming Spring/Summer will be the first warm weather season for our new brewery and we are
excited for what’s to come!
Given our success in NJ and our unique proximity to NYC, we submitted our application to NYS in
December to get our license to sell in NYC! We already have our Conditional Approval in place and plan
to be fully approved by the end of February. We’d like to have someone working with us in the NYC
market as soon as 3/15!

Position Overview

This position will primarily be based in Manhattan with a “sky’s the limit” mentality for growth. We are
looking for a self-motivated, high energy, organized sales rep/account manager. As we grow the
business, this individual will be responsible for on-boarding new clients as well as maintaining existing
relationships. At HBC, we self-distribute so maintaining great relationships with all vendors/partners is
paramount to our success. This role requires industry experience as NYC is already an extremely
competitive market. Being the face of our company in NYC – knowledge, relationships, communication
and professionalism is key.

Job Description

– Establishing and growing HBC’s account base and business in Manhattan (primarily). The applicant
should be tenacious and aggressive as we pursue new on-premise and off-premise accounts
– Maintaining, strengthening, & growing existing accounts through consistent communication. Applicant
will be required to uphold account correspondence (including but not limited to: account visits, sales
orders, and identification of new opportunities) in company CRM (HubSpot)
– Will require applicant to partake in “ride-alongs” during deliveries in company vehicle as needed
– Will be required to attend festivals, tastings, and events with the owners or as the sole representation
as needed
– Organizing promotional events/tasting and assisting in on/off premise marketing i.e. schedule and
conduct promotional/educational events, such as samplings, Tap Takeovers, beer dinners, regional beer
festivals, etc. in assigned territory
– Timely reporting of all administrative functions, including but not limited to, weekly site visit schedule,
reporting of expenses, and summary reports of prior week accomplishments
– Upholding the brand image at all times – professionalism and appropriate behavior is of the utmost

– Working knowledge of the craft beer industry and wholesaler operations.

Job Requirements

– Must reside within a reasonable distance to assigned territory
– Must understand local federal & state Alcohol Beverage laws and abide by them at all
– Must be available to work nights and weekends
– Possesses a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
– Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing, sales and management is a plus
– 2+ years of experience in the beer, wine & spirits industry or 3+ years of outer market sales
experience is preferred
– Excellent oral and written communications skills
– Proficiency in computer skills, Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
– Must be able to lift/move objects up to 50 pounds

and the sky is your limit!
Temp-to- hire. This is a 90 day guaranteed employment with competitive compensation. As this new
territory is new to us and untested, your sales and ability to establish the brand and grow the business
will determine if this is to a full time salaried role. That is completely up to you and we hope to hire full
time after 90 days!
