What is The Craft Beer League? Think of it as fantasy football with craft beers. You need to choose 6 craft beers (among 200 of the top selling craft beers based on retail sales data) for your team. Your players (the beers) earn points based on their percentage increase in weekly retail (off-premise) sales over the prior week (sales data based on Nielsen scan data). The points they receive are based on where they rank among the 200 beers for the week so the beer that had the largest percentage increase would get 200 points. The one with the smallest increase would get 1 point. Your team’s score for the week is the sum of your 6 beers.
The upcoming season will run for 6 weeks through Dec 10. You can change your lineup each week but the lineups will lock at 8pm ET on Thursday (so week 1 lineups lock at 8pm ET on Nov 5).
The Craft Beer League is Free to play. You can join the OPEN League to compete on your own or start your own league and invite your friends. Signups for the new season will begin on October 30. Details can be found at www.thecraftbeerleague.com.
