Sixpoint and Barcade, a charity holiday event

Here’s info from our friends at Barcade about a Sixpoint event that you’ll want to check out

BARCADE and Sixpoint are proud to announce the first of what is hoped to be an annual holiday fundraiser for local food banks in Brooklyn, New Jersey and Philadelphia. The December 10, 2011 event will also serve as a launching pad for the “Barcade Beer Project” — a series of beers to be brewed by SIXPOINT BREWERY in Brooklyn, NY, and served exclusively at Barcade locations in Brooklyn, NY, Jersey City, NJ and Philadelphia, PA.

The beers will be a series of re-releases of retired styles originally brewed by Sixpoint and served at Barcade in Brooklyn during 2004 and 2005. Both companies opened in 2004 and these were some of the first Sixpoint beers ever served by Barcade.

The first in the series will be “East Coast Amber” which was the first beer released by Sixpoint and the first Sixpoint beer served by Barcade. This beer will be available at Barcade locations starting in November. Beers will follow at approximately eight week intervals in a release schedule similar to their original order. The re-releases will be brewed as single batches and will be extremely limited.

The release schedule:

EAST COAST AMBER – November 2011 S.M.P. – December 2011
REBELLION – February 2012
ABIGALE – April 2012

BLACK SOUL PORTER – July 2012 GLOBAL WARMER – October 2012 BOLSHOI – December 2012

To celebrate the series, Barcade will host Sixpoint for simultaneous events at all 3 locations from noon – 10pm on Saturday, December 10. Each event will

feature ten Sixpoint beers on draft, with S.M.P. and East Coast Amber at each location. Thirty beers will be poured in total; 26 will be different.

For those wishing to attend all three events, a limited amount of tickets will be available that will get you five-ounce pours of all 10 beers at each event, food in Philadelphia and a bus ride from Brooklyn to Jersey City then Philadelphia, then back to Brooklyn. Of course, there will be special treats for the bus ride, and the bus comes with a bathroom!:)

Extremely limited tickets are $100 and will be available on Brown Paper Tickets at the following link:

http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/212905.
All net proceeds from the tickets will be donated to the following food banks:

Brooklyn Rescue Mission

All beer will donated by Sixpoint and all food by Barcade.
