Slack Tide Brewing Company update

Clermont (Cape May Court House). Bobbie from Slack Tide Brewing sent us over the following press release.

Slack Tide Brewing Company announced that it received its Limited Brewers License from the New Jersey ABC. This license will allow the company to operate a brewery and provide beer tastings along with brewery tours at their location on Route 83 in Clermont, New Jersey. The company is one of just two licensed breweries located in Cape May County.

The Brewery has 2000 square feet dedicated to the brewing operation and a 500 square foot tasting room. As part of a Limited Brewers License, tours of the brewery are required prior to sampling the beer. Customers can sample the beer as a “flight” of four 4 ounce tastings or by the pint. Customers can also stop in for growler fills which do not require a tour and must be consumed off premise.

Slack Tide will offer a variety of beers on tap in their tasting room. Initial offerings include Angry Osprey (American IPA), Prissy Wicks (Belgian Golden Strong), Bell Buoy (Belgian Blonde), Bucktail (American Brown Ale), Double Header (Double American IPA), 5 Fathom (Pale Ale) and Monkey Face (Dry Stout). Slack Tide will also offer limited edition seasonal beers. “We are really excited to get going. It’s been a long process to get to this point.” Said Tadhg Campbell, Co-Founder. “We are planning to open to the public by the end of the year, once we’ve had time to brew enough beer to meet the initial demand.” Slack Tide also has plans to self-distribute its beer to local bars and restaurants, as supply and demand allow.

Slack Tide Brewing Company was founded in 2015 by Jason and Tadhg Campbell who were raised in Cape May County and have been home brewing for several years. They decided to turn their passion for brewing beer into a business that will allow them to work in the community in which they live and eventually provide year round jobs in Cape May County.

“Cape May County is a great place to live, but the area is in need of year-round employment opportunities.” Said Jason Campbell, Co-Founder. “We believe that the alchotourism business is one avenue to boosting the local economy. With 6 wineries, a distillery, 2 breweries (and several more in the works), Cape May County is on its way to becoming a year-round destination spot for wine and beer enthusiasts.” The brothers also plan to support the local economy by using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
