Mike

After moving to an area with less craft beer than I was used to, I built NJCB to explore local places with craft beer. I love a delicious hoppy IPA, a funky Saison and a rich porter. I love saving money, drinking beer and traveling around New Jersey. #TeamNJCB.

The Ship Inn

The Ship Inn was New Jersey’s first brewpub established after prohibition ended. For starters, shame on me for taking this long to go out there. This place has history so many of our members and readers are probably already familiar with The Ship Inn, at least with the name. As a matter of fact, one our very active members that is in constant contact with us was the one who got us the contact information.

Edison Ale House, Newark

Edison Ale House

Newly opened (as in a month ago) and in a prime location, Edison Ale House appears ready to be a favorite go-to spot for craft beer drinkers in Newark. Blending classic bar style with a true classy modern flare is how I would describe Edison Ale House. That not only goes for the appearance but also for the food. A great selection of brick oven pizzas, wings from classic buffalo to Raspberry Habanero or their

Oktoberfest at Isaac Newton’s!

Isaac Newton’s is bringing Germany to Newtown as they host their annual Oktoberfest celebration on October 8th from 12 – 3 pm. To create the appropriate ambience, Isaac’s dedicates the entire side of the restaurant which contains the bar and, weather permitting, the outside eating area to the event and decorates in an Oktoberfest theme. Setting the mood is accordion player extraordinaire, Don Bitterlich, strolling through the crowd playing German classics. A full German buffet
